I’m sure this will be answered in a matter of seconds by one of the Spitfire gurus but on some PR Mk XIX there is an air intake just below the exhausts on the port side, however I cannot find anything to indicate if this is present or absent on the reverse side.

Don’t forget the main eng air intake slopes on it unlike the other versions and no gap between the spinner and cowls.

Not present on the first few aircraft which were not pressurised

PR Mk XIX intake
I’m sure this will be answered in a matter of seconds by one of the Spitfire gurus but on some PR Mk XIX there is an air intake just below the exhausts on the port side, however I cannot find anything to indicate if this is present or absent on the reverse side.
I believe this intake was only on the one side. I think it was the intake for the cockpit pressurisation system.

Intake for cabin pressure blower. Port side only
