Didn’t there used to be a thread entitled “Which magazine do you by (sic)?”
Where’d it go?

Anybody starts pounding on me and I shall get seriously upset.
I know my stomach’s a little large but Lincolnshire’s 40 miles away!
And, leave my Mum out of this.
BTW, well bumped.

Did I see a post entitled “The Webmaster returns” just now.
Does that mean we are about to get an answer?

I’ll add my voice to this one, too-come on, you know that we ALL buy ‘Flypast’, at least on a semi-regular basis, so why censor a ‘which mag is best?’ thread?
An answer, please?

Webmaster, your silence is deafening
Come on old son – you have always endeavoured to be most helpful in the past and have been very prompt when your help was sought.
Now I think the members of this forum at least deserve some sort of explanation for the original thread being pulled. I don’t accept that the editorial staff of Flypast are so paranoid that minor criticisim cannot be accepted and I find it very hard to believe that Moggy’s comment could have been so offensive or insensitive that it merited killing off the thread.
As you can see from this thread, people want to know why. I want to know why.
I think we deserve better. Why have you ignored us on this matter?

The Magazine price seems to go up all the time and get thinner too. Plus ive noted that they seem to have quite regular spots for corgi and the diverse models model companies( or whatever they are fully called). Now fair enough, they are nice models but why the constant plugs. Lets face it, they are plugs even if they are part of a vast article on how well made the models are etc etc
Ive bought every issue since the age of 10 back in 1994 and the decline is obvious. To think that i only bought that first issue just because it had the Lanc on it.

Hatton…it’s funny you should say that as my Dad and I were saying exactly the same as you this weekend…the May issue is certainly one of the “thinnest” issues in recent years with 94 pages…I’m sure it’s usually at least 100 pages long…maybe we’ll get a bumper issue in June?…

we’ve not forgotten webmaster 😉
ps…is it just me or does flypast have less pages or is the paper getting thinner. either way, got mine this morning for the ever inflating price of 3.50.

Returned from a week away and still no explanation from the Webmaster
So what’s going on huh?
Moggy

Webmaster, you have the floor…
Well, guys, I’d certainly like to know why the thread was pulled too, especially as I had already put in my two bob’s worth and found it to be interesting.
It was also a good deal more innocuous than some of the other threads which have gone around recently.
Come on Webmaster, you had a number of senior and well respected members contributing to this thread – I too think at least some sort of explanation is warranted.
The floor, sir, is yours…

Well hey!
I’ve just opened my copy of FlyPast and guess what?
Some chaps digging up a Wellington (Bomber) from a beach.
How’s that for quick response (or coincidence)? Key are good at absorbing feedback!
Kev, I don’t think it was anything to do with the main topic of the thread, or mentioning other magazines. I fear it was an aside I threw in.

Moggy has a point. Why the silence from the webmaster? Surely a comment on this topic can’t be that bad? And as has already been pointed out they have received a certain amount of feedback on flypast as a result of this thread.

Beware

Ta,
Notable silence from the webmaster huh?
Wonder if I should I reconstruct my contribution and see if it gets pulled again?
Moggy 😉

It’s a Free World
No problem Moggy, we could always reconstruct the thread another time.

Sorry mate,
I’ve been thinking back over this and, call me paranoid if you like, but I’m pretty sure it was something I wrote that caused the thread to be pulled.

Aircraft Illustrated
I usually hide it inside a copy of Playboy so that I don’t get embarassed if I bump into someone I know after buying it.
