Take the tube to Hatton Cross (1st station from T1/2/3, 2nd station from T4). Once there you will be in the approach for runway 27L. If the wind is coming from the west this is the place to be. You can stay at the train station, or cross the street towards the BP gas station, and walk 10 minutes towards T4 where a nice grass field can be found.

If 27R is used you have to walk 10 minutes northerly, but is should not be too hard to find the runway.
