Great Spot

Seen today Vulcan XL426 taxing around at Southend then a couple of powered runs at Low speed down the runway.

I think it must have been a PC21.

Don’t think Boscombe operates a Harvard any more. They were occasionally “borrowing” Yak 50s but after a recent accident that may have stopped.  Looking at FR24 etc an ETPS PC-21 was around at that time as were several Grob 115s (UAS?) and also an ETPS Squirrel.  

I spotted two aircraft today flying at Boscombe Down today but no idea what they were. An aircraft that could well have been a Texan black with a yellow (I think) tail at 14.10 and 5 minutes later a small helicopter took off that I have no idea what it could have been.

Walking up the hill for a constitutional around sunset tonight, the rasp of a radial rather evident to the east – T-6 G-CTKL in the circuit at Biggin. 

Very much a lapsed spotter, I live near Old Sarum and believe it was a Beaver that passed low overhead this morning. I glimpsed it through a window and behind trees.  And, just before lunch, a Scout and a Sioux flew across in tandem. I presume the Historic Army Aircraft group was out and about today.

C-47 N147DC trundled past my place around mid-day – unfortunately I’d just got in and hadn’t yet glanced at FR24! Looks as though it was en-route Dunsfold/North Weald – its track started just south of Guildford.

I saw on wednesday just gone a clipped winged Spitfire out of Biggin Hill. Does anybody here know which Spitfire it could be?

I noticed Hunter G-KAXF heading eastwards along the south coast just off Worthing a couple of days ago.

Wednesday saw Huey up near Oxford and then yesterday saw a Harvard fly over same location, last week a friend of mine saw a SE5a fuselage on a Lorry on M40.

A nice change from S****ns – Martin Baker’s black Meteor heading towards Didcot last night around sunset – apparently did two circuits of Didcot.
