Minding my own business in our local garden centre at sunday lunchtime a loud noise distracted me from the dalias and I spotted what I’m sure was a Beaver climbing from about 2-300ft over hardingstone/wootton, northants –
Now I’m not sure that there are many Beavers flying in the UK, but it looked like it had just taken off- I am sure however that there isnt a strip in the village?
Bod – Steve? Anyone help?

You don’t need an airstrip for a Beaver, that’s the glory of them, a postage stamp sized cow pasture is suddenly an airfield. 🙂

Beaver, Sioux and Scout flew over my house this afternoon (near RAF Wratting Common). Heading towards DX. Hell of a racket!

‘Twas the AAC Historic Aircraft. After the Piper Cub did a short take-off demo on the cross runway, the Beaver did simulated up-and-over trees take-off.

Oh dear!
Still glad to know I’m not going mad – it was in silhouette hence I couldnt see the markings – I imagine it was doing a recce for the Army Historic Flight ready for the Music in The Air event at Sywell this weekend.
Phew!
Thanks one and all

…..it was only a quick glimpse but am pretty sure I know a Beaver when I see one.

You otter know better than to misidentify a great plane like that. 😀
Canadian aviation trivia: The original nickname for the Otter was “King Beaver”. When it was changed, aviation lost a great nickname.

Your not seeing things TT, Beaver went straight over our house on its way in and out of Sywell on Sunday. Looked to be the Army Historic Flight example. Nice Beaver 😀

Have just seen an advert in the Stratford upon Avon Herald for yesterday’s Wellesbourne Wings and Wheels/Vulcan taxiing event. It says
“Static display including Curtiss P-40 Kittyhawk and de Havilland DHC-2 Beaver”
Just checked with a friend who went there who confirms Beaver was there but Peter Teichman’s P-40 wasn’t.
