Hi all,
My work is sending me backwards and forwards over the next month or two from STN to EDI and I am wondering about some good spotting/photo spots at EDI – any recommendations/anyone fancy a beer sometime up there? 😉
Cheers!! 😮

Robert Pittuck’s excellent website should have all the info you need. Ingliston is your best bet. Although the views airside from the departure lounge are also good.

“A French Estate car” – do you mean Renault, Peugeot or Citroen? Is that embarassing then? Dont worry – I have a German car!! 😀

Little place called Kelty, tis on Junction 4 of the M90.
Oh I passed near-by last week on my way to Knockhill then! 😀

I know Kelty – I grew up (well maybe!) in Tayport!!! Nice and handy for Leuchars when I was a kid!

Chaps – I am 95% sure I am flying into EDI next Thursday, staying over and then will be out at the airport from about 1300 on the Friday afternoon – I will get the SleazyJet back to STN around 2000 I think – this should give me some free time…
Beers anyone? 😉
By: CWBalmer - 18th April 2006 at 22:46
Ok chaps – i should get my flights confirmed before Thurs, but it’s looking like next week now.
I usually dive out of the office (Melville St in town), cab it to the airport, drop off my bags and then run (not literally!) round to Ingliston Mkt and head for the fence…
I will try and catch a later flight back down to STN and be @ the airport from early afternoon for the duration. Unf. all of this depends on the new kit we have ordered for our EDI office and when it gets delivered….
I will though, give as much notice as possible to you all though…

I’m on nightshifts… but as long as its not too early or late in the day (between 5 and 10pm works best for me) I’ll see if I can pop over 🙂

I can’t plan trips cos of work commitments but fit in visits in-between jobs, will you have a car? or be on foot?
By: Ren Frew - 18th April 2006 at 13:42
Chaps – looks like I am gonna be in EDI for an overnighter at some point in the next week or so – anyone local fancy hooking up for a tad of spotting when I get some dates confirmed?- I might have the ball and chain with me but I will send her off shopping to get some free time…. 😉
I’ll be there this Friday for the book launch in the terminal… 😉

I still don’t follow, the Boathouse Bridge spot after 4 pm yields excellent results, especially landing shots on 24?
Shooting through the fence with a lttle-un.?
Almondbank, some 100 yards along the secluded path allows shots with big-uns above the fence.
OK for those who take a string of bodyguards with them, but who would go alone with over £2000s worth of
equipment.?
Remember the Jamie mugging.? Forewarned is forearmed.
