Spotting comp 2004 – Place you sightings here.

Sorry for the delay of posting this up guys.

Right, a reminder of the rules:

1. Please do try to post only what you do actually see (dont make up your sightings!)

2. Only Civil aircraft are allowed to be entered into this year comp. No military!

3. If you can get the reg number’s of the aircraft it would help your chances alot more.

4. Pictures can be a bonus too – but they are not essential.

5. You can post as many times as you like between the start date and finish date. So if your at an airport everyday, log what you have seen here if you wish.

6. The rarer the aircraft the better chance you mostly likely have of winning.

7. If anyone starts getting ratty/moaning etc during the comp, you will be disqualified!

8. Comp Starts from yesterday (June 5th) and will run until July 3rd. Anything you see in that time, put down on this thread.

9. On July 5th, everyone will be entered into a public poll here on the forum, where you will get the chance to vote for who you would like to win.

10. This poll will last from Monday July 5th to Friday July 9th.

11. Should there be a tie, there will be another poll that will last for a day where again everyone can vote.

12. Prize will be awarded/mailed a few days later.

The people that went to airports yesterday (June 5th) or saw aircraft etc, please transfer your logs to this thread, if you dont they will sadly not be counted.

So all that remains for me to say is —- GOOD LUCK! 😎 😀

My last entry into the competition probably, I do not expect to visit an airport prior to the closing date.

Today I did the final preparations for my upcoming trip to London….. I bought myself an image tank! 40gb of photos can now be shot, so that should be enough for 5 days. The store selling them is on the other side of the country so a stop at AMS was waranted. I was there for about 3 or at most 4 hours.

The following planes where seen with Dutch planes left out and the odd stuff in bold. Once again Air Pulmantur was at AMS, and just like last week I cocked up the photo. The plane was fully empty and took off like a rocket. It was too high to make a reasonable photo, just a view from underneath. You can just see the tail logo but that’s it.

I will add to Robs post by saying I did see OY-SVT – twice in fact! Was rather interesting, the first ATP to visit Farnborough since the airshow last time round, after that they were banned from the airport in the new liscence, not sure how they managed to get this one in! It was also the first BA colours I had seen at Farnborough, and I think probably the first ever world tail to visit as well? To add to the interest the ATP (operated by Sun Air Scandinavia) routed Billund-Farnborough-Filton-Cambridge-Billund!

I agree, not the best looking Jet2 a/c in the fleet, but at least it’s different, and theres always the other 7 a/c to make up for it 🙂

Here we go, at TLV last Friday, spotted with photos, but photos confiscated by authorities. :(. But still have a list:

El Al B747-400
El Al B777-200
El Al B737-800
Arkia B757-300
Israir B757-200
Lufthansa B747-400 (yes, LH flies a B747 between FRA and TLV, very big route)
Alitalia A321-200 (finally, an Airbus!)
El Al B767-200
Arkia Dash-7
Israir ATR-42
Pulkovo Tupolev TU-154
Royal Wings Dash-8-300
Turkish B737-800
Sky Airlines B737-400
British Airways B767-300ER

My rarest sightings? The elusive Pulkovo Tu-154, Arkia Dash-7 and the Sky B737-400.

I saw a Sun Air of Scandinavia BAe ATP registration OY-SVU parked on the ramp in Bilbao yesterday. Painted in British Airways colours with the “Wings” world tail. Haven’t got a clue what it was doing there but it was quite interesting all the same. Unfortunately I couldn’t get a photo as it was impossible to get a decent shot of it due to where it was parked.
