Spotting Competition 2004

Hi all.

Well i think its about that time once again for a spotting comp, seeing as the weather appears to be on the up. :D. Last years one was pretty successful i think, so i think its a good idea to give it another go. 🙂

Most of you probably remember what you have to do, but for those who dont, heres a quick run down…

Basically, when you go to an airport, or what you see flying over your house on a day to day basis, or a weekly basis (it doesnt matter) note it down on the thread that will appear on the forum this coming Saturday. Its as simple as that.

The competition will run for exactly one month this year as opposed to just over one month, one week last year. The prize it at this stage undecided, but by this saturday will be made known to all of you. I would like it if most could take part.

The rules:

1. No cheating, please do try NOT! to make up sightings/spotting as its not fair on others!

2. Pictures taken by you of what you see could help you chance of winning.

3. Spotting starts on Sat June 5th and will end on Sat July 3rd. – anything posted before then will not be counted.

4. You can have as many entries as you want – though there more rare the aircraft is, the better chance you most likely have.

Thats about really i think. :p

At the end of the month that it will run for, i will take into consideratin what you have seen and those who have entered will be entered into a public poll here on the forum, which will run for a week for people to vote on. Should there be a tie at the end, a head to head poll will take place over the period of a day in the hope that we get a winner.

Hope this all makes sense to you, if not drop me a PM.

So please remember, do not put anything you have spotted on this thread, as i wont count. Spotting starts from this Saturday June 5th, and will run until Saturday July 3rd – Aircraft spotted by you between those dates will be counted as an entry to the competition.

Cheers,

Andy. 🙂

I’ve started a book with all my spotting so I can keep record of what I see! Today the highlights are TITAN AIRWAYS BAe-146, Private B737-bbj, VLM F50 in new c/s

Does it have to be from airlines? Or do, for instance, DC3s and JU52s from museum and the likes count as well?

Great idea to start this again Andy, wasn’t it me who came up with the (rough) original idea in the first place?! 😀 Should be interesting, can we remember what the winner was last year?

Grr, shame it doesn’t start tomorrow, I may catch the Transaero 737, it’ll be the only chance I will get before the competition ends as my exam leave ends on Monday! 😡 😉 🙂
