I just wanted to start a post to see where everyone would really like to go spotting near your home or far away. Also, I wanted to see your views on airports that are amazing for photography and some that are not good at all or ones where it is not allowed( i.e. DXB where they have some amazing aircraft but also strict rules that ban spotting).
For me, I really want to go to LHR, CDG, TLS, HKG, SIN, SYD(during the summer there), and KIX/NRT. I was at LHR last summer but since I was with my grand-parents there was no time for spotting of course:( . I did manage to see a lot of arrivals and departures while sitting on the Heathrow Express though…
Anyway, feel free to provide pics and explinations of your dream spotting location.

CCS is a great place for spotting…however, depending on the guard’s moods, photgraphy might not be as good. If you ever decide to go, let me know, I lived there for about 6 years, and there are some really nice spots available…

I think the obvious place for me would be St. Maarten.
The shot below was taken in Phuket. I saw a similar shot of a Thai Airways 747 a few months ago and decided that one day I will go there! Added yesterday and had almost 2,500 views already!

it may be my home base, but I think that AMS has some of the best fascilities anywhere. DUS is also very good, but has less interesting traffic (lots of LH and LTU and then the usual european airlines and some charters).
I really disliked STN a lot. Airside the viewing is perfect but landside it is terrible. I was also very disappointed at BRU. Fortunately I have gotten directions to a new spot that sounds very promising so when the summer comes round I’ll try BRU again.

TLS and AMS for me, hopefully should be able to visit them this year! Just an amazing array of planes in both places!
