Now that easyJet have announced 4 new routes from Belfast,starting at the end of June, I’m thinking of a brief trip to Paris CDG for some spotting and photography. Can anyone recommend a good CDG site which would give info on the matter? Anyone got any experience themselves of spotting these days at CDG? Can you recommend a good (i.e. basic but cheap, convenient and clean) airport hotel to stay at?
All help much appreciated.

It depends if you want to take photos or just spot? The best place for photos is ‘the mound’ this is next to the taxiway between the terminals. Buy you will miss logging loads of the others.
CDG is really two airports. The older international side has a round,ugly terminal built in the 70’s. The aircraft park around very close saterlites, and some photos can be had. Viewing is ok from outside departures as you can walk right round the terminal. The police wont hassle you unless you go on the narrow path on the outside,which is the place for photos,so be quick!
The other mainly Air France terminal is not so good. The up ramp gives views of the commuter apron. Its just a matter of walking through the terminals getting what you can. Dont forget to visit the vast hall F at the end of this the TAM and JAL park plus some more commuters.
For cheap hotels there is the B&B in Roissy village which I think is about 40 euros a night. Its also under the approach to the AF runways.
As for the police it depaends what side of bed they got out of that day! PM me if you want more.

I went zillions of time at CDG but never for plane spotting. Just rushing for work or departing to the US.
