A spare camera (300.D) has become available at work, so on a ‘try before you buy basis’ I took it for a test, and was quite impressed. Photos are Wycombe, Brimpton and W.Waltham.
This season Polly Vacher is wearing orange (again!) , and having tired of flying around the world, is now flying round Aldermarston. She is currently converting onto tailwheel a/c, but more of that later….

There’s an unsafe level of zoom there if you ask me 😉
Why is Polly tailwheeling?

That ‘Janie’ shot won’t last long.
She don’t like pictures…..

The 300D is quite a nice camera. I’m buying one myself, as a second camera to my 20D.
The Canon IS lens are also a very nice investment.
Nice photos there Propstrike. 🙂

Funnily enough, I never mentioned size, I just said it was “pretty serious looking”. 🙂

I thought the lens was just pretty averaged sized, to be honest, but I guess this isn’t the place for psycho-analysis!
One man’s ‘average’ is another chaps nine inches.
🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

I did indeed! Once I have the means to extract the pics from the camera I will post a few here, if they are any good.

Just for you, a DHC-1. And a Colt/Pacer for Moggy.
Thank you! You didn’t happen to get any of the really cute silver one at Abingdon, by any chance? That was a pretty serious looking lens you were carrying.

Thanks Janie, yeah had a good couple of weekends this month. The camera is pretty easy to use, if you can cope with the weight of a 35-350 lens, but camera shake is a problem at the longest focal length. The pundits suggest an Image Stabilsing lens is the one to get, but they seem to be the thick end of £1000.00 for a really good zoom. I may need to myself get a longer paper-round.

Looks like you are having way too much fun.
Pics look just fine. Thanks for sharing them.
Did you find it easy to use?
