Squadron Leader Craig Timoney

It is believed that Sqn Ldr Timoney completed more than one operational tour. In 1944 he was a member of 464 RAAF Sqn, No 140 Wing flying the Mosquito- the ‘Gestapo hunters.’ Timoney was awarded a DFC in 1945.

He died in Oxfordshire in 1998 and his widow gave away all his RAF items including his log book and medal group; apparently to a museum. The family want to trace the medals and log book and I have contacted the RAF museum and museums within the Oxford area on their behalf but to no avail.

In fact, it was one of the curators who kindly suggested I try this forum. I am glad he did because it is a great discovery!

I should be most grateful for any information about the whereabouts of Timoney’s log book and medal group.
