AirAsiaX hopes to begin long-haul flights to China and Australia next month, using three leased planes, and has promised significant discounts on existing fares.
It has yet to announce its Australian destinations but speculation here is that it will start services to either the Gold Coast or Avalon in Victoria. Yesterday, industry sources tipped the first flights would be to Avalon.

Hong kong to london non stop in an A330-300 is also highly ambitious,i remember hearing years ago that bmi had slots from LHR to HKG,but would require A340’s as even the longer range A332(V. A333) that bmi have couldnt fly the route?

They’re going to fly with A330-300’s I gather…
No need to “gather”… First one is already painted up. Pics have been put up elsewhere on the WWW

Not sure if an A333 has the legs to do malaysia to London non-stop,perhaps a stop in dubai on one of the legs will be needed?

Yeah, that is what I heard as well…something was also mentioned about flights between London and Kuala Lumper costing just £43+tax (I think!).
