…with all this current change in the British law concerning ageism in the work place, I was delighted to receive this little note from Rhodesian Spitfire pilot and near neighbour Bill Musgrave.
Mark
Just a matter of general interest – the details of a man born in 1874, fought in the Matabele Rebellion in Rhodesia in 1899/1900, joined the South African Army in the First World War and awarded the DSO and MC, joined the RAF in World War II and flew as a Rear Gunner in Coastal Command and awarded the DFC in 1944 – his 70th Birthday.
Just type in Sos Cohen DFC in the Google Search Engine.
Regards, Bill M

Wasn,t there a BoB Squadron leader who in his advanced age still got up and flew the odd mission??I agree you can,t keep a good man down, regardless of age.One of our volunteers is an ex WW2 Spit,Kitty,Mustang, and others, pilot.Well into his 80,s now but puts us younger blokes to shame with his work ethic.
