This year we organised our 16th Stampe Fly-in.
The weather was terrible and so we didn’t got that much visitors.
Luckily we have some interesting planes based at our airfield, so we took them all out of their hangar and into the static.
Let’s start with some of the fourteen Stampes
This year we had two Stampe’s that had just made a test-flight after restoration.
OO-GWB (finished in first military BAF colours)
and OO-PAX (finished in colours of Les Manchots)
OO-SVB
Luckily on Sunday the weather was better and so we still had 3 visiting Stampes
OO-MMD
OO-VSV
Some of the other types that were present
HB-KEV Job 15, that made its first public outing after complete restoration with RAR (http://www.rar.be)
Another interesting little plane that’s based at Antwerp is Mooney M.10 N9516V
Also based are two Stearmans
OO-DBM
and OO-OPS
And Sunday afternoon, the highlight of the weekend arrived with the formation of 2 Spitfire G-BUOS and G-CCCA
Also visiting from Gilze-Rijen

Later on Sunday, John Romain gave a nice display in CCCA, normally BUOS would also participate, but that one wouldn’t start.
Hope you like the pictures.

Sensible people then. European skies in winter are just a bit cold for open cockpits.

Indead, there are also Stampes with closed cockpits. All 65 Stampes that were delivered to the Belgian AF after WWII had closed cockpits. And some of them now fly under civil markings.

Smashing stuff. That JOB 15 looks a sweet little machine. You’ve educated me, I knew the Canadians put canopies on their Tiger Moths and Swordfisht but I didn’t know that Belgium had done the same to the Stampe
