Whilst in Belgium last weekend, I was extremely lucky enough to be given a flight in a Stampe SV.4 OO-PWA at Moorslede airfield. During the flight, we flew over Polygon Wood, scene of fierce fighting in the 3rd Battle of Ypres in late 1917, and also Zonnebeke where a WW1 living history event was being held

Great to see the Stampe photo’s.
The Air-Britain Fly-In at North Weald on 21-22 June (www.air-britainflyin.co.uk) will be marking the 75 anniversary of the Stampe’s first flight with a gathering of the type. 15 Stampes so far promised, from UK, France and Belgium, with more considering. Happy to see you there.
