Does anyone know what this is from? I am assuming it is from something like a Bofors gun mobile platform, but can’t find any images of any such stands that are a match. Any ideas would be very gratefully received.

Thanks bllodnok, I think you’re probably right. A giraffe or a mobile platform look like they have bolt-on adjustable feet, so these are probably from something like that.

Looks like the wind down foot you get on a safety raiser or a giraffe.

The pins are way too large to fit, I’m afraid. I think the holes on the brackets would be for bolts.

Are the jack legs not attached to the hydraulic ram using those pins you were asking about the other day?

Rather than a jack, it seems more likely that it is from a servicing platform of some description. As you say, jacks tend to have the feet directly in line with the legs, and this is a separate bolt-on affair. I’ve tried looking for old servicing platforms, but to no avail.

Thanks for that. It does look very like the feet on the 5 ton jacks being sold by Everett here: http://www.everettaero.com/jacks.html. However, these screw through the jack itself rather than through a fitting which must bolt onto the jack. The foot itself seems identical, but it would be great to see an image of the same type of jack if possible.

Still used by the RAF, its a jack foot.
