Hi
I’m rebuilding a complete 1940’s original ‘A’ version of the SBA system. You will have seen the pilots instrument for this system especially if you are interested in bomber aircraft. I’ve rebuilt the R1125A marker receiver and the Power Supply Unit and have produced a radio simulation of the two Marker transmitters that indicated to the Pilot a) start descent and b) the runway is a few yards in front of you!! For a demonstartion of what the Pilot would have seen and heard see:

HI All
Finally my SBA project is complete. All the major items have been restored, painted and tested. Any part that was out of tolerance has been opened up and a new component embedded into it before being resealed. Where appropriate I’ve ‘manufactured’ identical parts. The net result is that the system looks like a brand new production version. Here are a couple of links to the kit in operation.

Hi
Project on this part now complete – the electronics is now back in the box. Moving onto the main receiver, could be a while!
The monochrome image is from a 1938 A.P.
