Stanford Tuck Mk.V fuselage lumps and bumps

GateGuards down at Newquay recently built a Mk.VB for a customer in Kent. He is still over the moon about having it in his garden, but has queried something that they didn’t include on the airframe and has asked me to try and clarify what two small ‘covers’ are on either side of the cockpit almost under the front canopy. I presume that they are something to do with the cockpit air ventilation, but not having seen them before, wonder if they were just installed on his Spitfire or were a factory modification. He and myself would just like to know what they are.

Best wishes,

Martin

Item on Port side is a scoop. I have seen it on a few aircraft. On the Starboard side there is a square section that hinges aout 1/4 from the back upwards. On the inside there is a vent box which opens and closes the vent with a flat headed round disc.
