Stansted Airport

Hi all, flying in a passenger aircraft for the first time in my life in a couple of weeks, from Stansted to Glasgow and back. I’m getting there via national express coach, and was wondering if anyone knew 1) how long I should allow for walking to the check in point from wherever the coach drops me off and 2) how long should I allow for getting off the plane and through security or whatever when I arrive back at Stansted?

Cheers, Rob

What day of the week are you flying? 1140 departure means you’ll be heading through security between 1000 and 1030, by this time it is usually very quiet and will only take a few mins to go through. Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings are a little busier…

I am pretty sure it was before breakfast. I have just spoken to a contact at the airport and round about the time of your flight things are generally quietening down after the early morning rush.

Getting off the plane rarely takes more than 40 minutes at most airports in my experience. I don’t recall being held up unduly at Stansted when ever I have flown in.

Early in the morning can be a problem based upon my own and friends experience. I nearly missed an easyjet flight to Glasgow last year as it took me 2 hours 15 minutes to get the departure gate from joining the check in queue. There were mega queues for check in and security. I was really cheesed off 😡

What time was this? My flight isn’t till 11:25 but the check in desk opens at 9:40 so was going to get there as early as possible

Also, will it really take two hours to get off the plane? I thought it would just be getting off the plane, getting bag checked again maybe then just walk to the terminal

…….The bust terminal is just outside the front of the terminal. It’s well thought out 🙂

Wow! I really must have a look at that the next time I visit Stansted. 😎

The normal 2 hours.

The bus station is to the right hand side of the terminal and less then a 5 min walk.
