Starting Digital Photography at Airshows

Hi Guys,

I am just startingv to look at digital photography, for bout 10 years i have photgraphed stuff on 35mm, more for fun then anything else however my minolta has devolped a problem whbich is terminal 😡

so my focus turned to digital, my father brought me for xmas a Nikon D1, he has used one for a couple of years and had some good pictures from it, and he picked up a body only quite cheap.

Any one have any experiance using one?

or any general tips for using digital to photo these beauts in the sky?
