There were plenty of threads to discuss about the performance of 4th gen aircrafts. One of the issues that were discussed was whether these designs are stealth or not.
In order to help the discussion I would like to start a new thread and move the subject of stealth a bit forward. So let me put some bullets to comment:
*How many countries will they have an operational system to detect stealth designs within the next 10 to 20 years?
*In my opinion US will sertainly have something not to mention that probably their new “arleigh burke” ships will have a kind of device installed. I don’t know whether these devices will also be airborne.
*Russia probably will have. They said they can detect stealth designs but how true is that statement?
*What about Europe. I ‘m expecting a lot from Thales but didn’t hear anything yet. Has anyone any info?
*Supposing that one kind of such devices becomes operational, this will first affect the proposed use of stealth fighters and probably will lead scientific research to different technics to achieve low observability.
