The future Russian Project 2038 Steregushchy Class Corvette will have a displacement of 1800-2000 tones, will be armed with something like 6 Klubs or 8 Urans, Kashtans/Shtil-1-VLs, Torpedoes and such and a single Ka-28 Helicopter.

Out of all these, the Visby and Skjold look the stealthiest.

Yes they did, the USS ARTHUR W. RADFORD (DD 968)
http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ship/aems.htm

I saw this ship on Monday flying into Philadelphia, she is docked in the naval shipyard. Looked cool from the top, though all her VLS cells were open and empty, either its being mothballed (judging by the poor state of the composite mast) or its in for repairs.

Didn’t the US Navy fit a prototype integrated mast to a Spruance class destroyer?

SeaArrow-Sigma

Interesting to see that Royal Schelde has been working with Thales to develop stealth mast concepts for their cirvette and OPV designs.

attached images that show modifications to their designs to incorporate sealthy masts.

Old stuff IMHO,
“Sea Arrow” , a concept from Royal de Schelde of more than 8 years ago.
Superseeded by the Sigma line, I think

Need the waybackmachine to find some stuff:

Warship1

Imdex ’97

Lima ’01 (i think)

This may be one reason why RDM was into these concepts (another being export, like Royal Schelde Sigma-line export to Indonesia):

“Future Corvette: The RNlN will probably begin planning for the replacement of the two Jacob Vans Heemskerck and the first four units of the Karel Doorman class frigates around 2009. In guideline with the Defense White Paper 2000 objectives, fourteen major surface combatants will be retained. More than likely, a corvette sized vessel will replace the two classes of frigates”

source

Considering the weapons and sensor fit, they would be compatible with Karel Doorman class.

Cant be sure on this one I’m afraid. That said if its not a Vospers design its doing a bloody good impression of one. In fact it looks a lot like a shrunk-down, monohull VT Cerberus corvette.

Other than that I cant help I’m afraid.

I have that same pic saved on my pc under the name “Sea Arrow”. I think I remember vaguely that it was a french ( or british? ) proposal some years ago.

Maybe Jonesy might know more ?

HAve you guys seen the new Mexican Navy Stealth Ships????

I’m trying to find info on them, can you guys help out?

You probably mean the Sierra class OPVs. Here is a link:

Sierra Class

This is my first post in this forum, and I’m very glad being here! 🙂

A question of my own: has anyone any info about the South Korean and Venezuelan (build by Bazan) “stealth” FACs?
