You know..US’s next Gen AC…any thoughts guys?? there must be something deep inside..somewhere in a drawer of Pentagon…bah…anyway..is it possible given current state of Technology (offcourse only applies to US of A :P) and considering JSF will be doing the honours of landing and take-off?

Reminds me of the old computer game called Interceptor, where the Soviets had a submersible aircraft carrier that was launching Mig-29s to attack mainland America. Turns out this carrier is submersible and in the final (6th) mission you get to attack it.
(The game is so old the Mig-29 was just a black F-16.)
Was the first computer flight sim I played that had external views of your aircraft.

Some of the CVNX concepts have been pretty stealthy, in that they have had their design modified to reduce their radar cross section (RCS). They are still large and perfectly visible, but in a stealthier configuration would be harder to detect on radar at long ranges, making iit harder for radar-guided weapons too.

According to some…. 🙂 The existing US carriers are stealthy… and invincible… and a little homoerotic…

Can’t see the point in a stealthy aircraft carrier…. a carrier is used for power projection…. I.e. everyone knows it’s there and is scared of it… so no-one does anything to upset anyone on board. If the carrier is stealthy… it’s harder for people to know it’s there… so the impact of power projection is lost.

Check out a movie called “By Dawn’s Early Light” or read Kilo Class by Patrick Robinson. The moral effect on the nation would be like that of The Twin Towers inccident!

dont think their will be, not so long ago the pentagon had a report on how vulnerable the Aircraft carrier is and how much it would it would effect on a war if one was to be sunk, in terms of moral and the loss of people, equipment etc.
