Hi all,
Some years ago I read about Steve Vizard’s Whirlwind remains that would at some point could (or would) form the basis of a reconstruction project. Steve being of course involved with Airframe Assemblies. On of his Peregrine engines is on loan to the RR Historical Trust.
Any idea if these plans could one day really bear fruit. Of course you would say: why don’t you ask him?
In fact a few years ago when the WIX-participants had a plan to build a Whirlwind replica, Mr Vizard was contacted at the time and he mentioned that his Whirlwind remains could be used for reference (IIRC).
Well, the Whirlwind being one of this forums favourite aircraft types, this is a poor excuse to discuss it again.:p
Cheers

I could talk Whirlwinds all day long Cees, but even in my short time as a member on here I’ve seen it discussed with enthusiasm but unless one is parked up behind that Stirling in Chinese markings………. replica is probably as much as can be hoped for.
Still, maybe a new thread will bring out some nice pictures (even of whatever remains this guy has or had from P6966?) Just did a quick google and it bought me back here !
