Any Stinson 105/108 Gurus out there, or alternatively, anybody with part manuals for the two?
Would like to find out if the Lift struts are interchangable between the two, I have a set of 105 struts which are unservicable (and unobtainable) but 108 struts are available. Cant find any STCs for it – wondered if anybody had any previous user knowledge????
Alternatively if there are a set of 105 struts floating around, I’d love to hear from you!!!
And I’m trying the Stinson owners, they dont seem to know either!

Well Univair have got back to me and the 105 struts are NOT interchangable with the 108 struts, and the material spec is possibly unobtainium too so unless we can find some plans and some material for the job, this may prove to be one annual too far! Any leads on any Stinson parts (and please I am already talking with the Stinson Club) would be much appreciated. A lot of people on this forum get around so it keeps the scope of looking much wider….

Seems to me-that as only the two came from France(one as spares)-there is gonner be little info here.
Why don’t you just do an accurate drawing & email it to Univair to check. They are always very helpful, if on occasions a trifle expensive. However -their items ALWAYS fit.

Univair only seem to make struts for the 108 and cant confirm that these will fit the 105. However I have now seen some pictures of a US based 108 and the struts “look” exactly the same. Unfortunately “looking” the same is not good enough for me! – Any thoughts anybody???

The part numbers for Stinson 108s begin with 108…so I’d guess they’re not interchangeable.
For a parts manual and Stinson parts in general try Univair out of Colorado. They have the Stinson ATC and are authorized by the FAA to make parts.
They also have STCs and could probably answer your question in about two seconds.
Their on-line catalog list 1640 Stinson parts.
