Stirling N3654 recovery pics

And sometimes a wreck’s type can be identified by relatively small clues. The Simmonds Mk. III fuel contents guage was used by only a few aircraft, most notably the Stirling.

That’s great news Cees. It is amazing how”valuable” to a restoration even the smallest bracket can be!!

You hit the nail right on the head Peter,

Never have we seen such shattered wreckage as that of N3654. Although the wreckage only comprised the centre fuselage and one wing, everything is well and truly shattered but a lot of brackets and fittings can be salvaged and the boys from the Stirling Project will do that hopefully soon.
