Stirling Windscreen

I`ve got my eye on a windscreen which is I`m told ,and looks very much like, a Stirling one right shape, gauge etc.The thing that I can`t understand is,it`s made of thick perspex,I know Lancs and a whole host of other aircraft windscreens are made of laminated glass.Does anyone else know of main windscreens made of thick perspex?

HTH,

Some Ju88’s had thick windscreens (bulletproof glass?) also the B17 and B24 had think windscreen sections. Not any of the RAF types, the Halifax and Whitley certainly not.

Sounds unlikely to me – not impossible – just unlikely.
