Took a quick ride upto Stansted late this morning, to see if there was anything interesting happening. Several things of interest, including a Skyways Saab 340. Quite unusal, don’t know where it was coming from. Also got to see the Aurigny ATR, a Falcon and an extremely messy MyTravel. All of the photos are of varying quality, mainly poor! Shockingly bad weather down here this morning, some shots are nice and bright whereas others are dull. Had to take cover from rain showers 4 or 5 times, missing a GSS 747 and BA Dash 8 🙁
1-Aurigny ATR, nice sight 🙂
2-EI-DCC, one of Ryanair’s newest
3-Flew on this one, STN-GLA back in December
4-One of the older -800’s
5-Skways Saab 340, haven’t a clue why it was here!

No, I literally meant older. Because Ryanair are getting so many delivered each year, even the ones that were delivered originally about 3 or 4 years ago are old compared to the ones delivered say this month or last. I don’t mean to say they’re old….just older.
Ahah another STN worker HP81. Who do you work for? My dad has been on the airport for 8 or 9 years, until he was recently made redundant by FLS.

Welcome to the forum HP81! Thanks for the comment, yes I have since realised it was operating on the Jersey flight. Are you an STN spotter?
I’m not sure if I qualify as a real spotter, I enjoy watching & photographing airliners, but I only note of registrations in order to identify the planes I have photographed. Nowadays I rarely travel around in search of planes, but I work at stn.

SE-ISL seems to have been with Aurigny on 2 long lease periods now, one last year and a very extended one this year. It must be costing them a fortune, and its not as if there aren’t any surplus ATRs lying around?

The Skyways SAAB operates Aurigny flights, it’s actually quite a common sight at stn, I think it says leased to, or operated by, Aurigny somewhere on the fuselage.
Nice pics, keep them coming 🙂

Great photos Dan, you have to remember, people might be busy at the time that you post them, for example, I couldnt get on a PC for two days, but now I can, I really appreciate your pictures.
Please keep em coming!

The only argument I had, is that it does take a lot of time and effort to firstly take the photos, get them on the pc, re-size and edit them, then start a thread to attatch them on here. Even if the only response I got was something along the lines of ‘All your photos are crap, but…..’ then I would prefer that than them just being ignored! Atleast that way I may get something out of spending my time doing it, whereas yesterday this thread just dropped down to the bottom of the line within a couple of hours, and felt like an absolute waste of time.
I feel that way sometimes, I post a thread with my pictures, then people start posting on the thread BUT not about my trip report and pictures! That really makes me angry! 😡 but as long as I am pleased with my pics I’m ok. 😉

Nice shots! In particular the ATR is great. How many old liveries MyTravel are still around? I though they had all been repainted in the full new livery.
There is quite a large combination of MyTravel liveries hanging around. Some aren’t quite as bad as the one posted, and some are in the full orange livery. But others are almost plain white, and others jsut look like the mess shown in mine!

Wannabe Pilot
Don’t your dare stop posting pics on here, ya hear me???!!! 🙂
Your photos are always class and I for one love seeing them EVERY time. The ATR in the new Aurigny livery is looking lovely. I love their new livery and the ATR was a good choice of aicraft for Aurigny’s operation, in my opinion.
Regards,
Dean.
