Autsch!

Thankfully it sounds as though the pilot is OKish – I guess a Storch can only fall out of the sky so fast.

Call me a pedant, but it is an MS.500.

Indeed it is, though painted to represent a Luftwaffe example. It has also reverted to its Argus power after a period fitted with a radial as F-BBUG I believe. I think some MS produced examples had frames laid down during German controlled production in France but were completed later, when the French decided to continue production for their own use. If so are those considered to be Storches too; who knows?

Real shame…engine out, go for anything flat and green…heavy arrival on somewhat flimsy U/c, and wing tip taking the weight of a semi ground loop.
Good to hear no real harm to pilot. Aircraft repairable in todays world.
The French are not having a happy week, what with the Mossie and now this.

propeller not bent, engine failure?
The impact on leading edge of left wing likely spun aircraft left, caused left wing to stall, hit ground first and the sideways moment made gear collapse.

Damage does not look that severe, but will be lot of work.

”For the benefit of the uneducated. I will translate” – Edward Fox –

Aboard a Fieseler Storch, the pilot of the German plane from the Second World War was victim of a crash this morning on his way to the air show to be held tomorrow at the Bourget Lake. The driver has fortunately been slightly wounded by spoiling in a field in the municipality of Domessin near Chambéry. From Saint-Rambert d’Albon in the Drôme, the driver with his old plane was performing aerial demonstrations as part of the event. The aircraft was heavily damaged. An investigation was opened by the force of air transport.
