Storch BBC

Hi all,

I worked with the BBC recently on a feature highlighting the rules on the carriage of passengers in private aircraft.

My Fieseler Storch is featured.

BBC Breakfast TV tomorrow, Wednesday 20th. Time U/K.

The obvious question to Hairyplane is-can I have a flight in your Storch before u can charge more for it?
Thought not!

French were the main culprit for radials ! The American’s have been know to stick a Lycoming on the front – not pretty !

The French also put inline engines into the Criquet. The MS.500 used an Argus and the MS.501 a Renault. Radials went upfront in the MS.502 (Salmson) and the MS.504 and MS.505 (Jacobs). The Lycoming powered version was designated the MS.506.

The Civil Aviation Authority is considering changes which would allow the owners of vintage planes to charge passengers more for flights.

At the moment prices are heavily restricted, making it unaffordable for people to keep beautiful old planes in the air.

Peter Holloway owns a 1942 Fieseler Storch, a German aircraft used in World War II.

He took the BBC’s Transport Correspondent Richard Westcott for a ride.

Hi All,
Many thanks Denis and Hairyplane,
That’s great news I always thought it looked the part with the Argus rather than the radial engine the French put in them and someone else ? :eagerness:

Storch

I was under the impression that it operates with an original Argus..

It has the original Argus AS10c, an inverted air cooled V8.
