A few pictures from the September 11th event at Stow Maries.
Not too many aircraft flying, no doubt due to the windy conditions.
Still an enjoyable day out though.
Feel free to add any pictures or comments.

It always amazes me how often members of the forum must stand shoulder to shoulder at an event but have no way of knowing that they have read each others posts online. I was sat all alone at the left hand end of the flightline for much of the day as my knee was playing up so I couldn’t walk about a lot. We must have been yards from each other when you took the photos of the Fokker replica.

Nice set of pictures.
I knew the chap (Terry) who flies the the Auster, but he flew off before I had a chance to talk to him.
He was in the ATC at Rayleigh, back in the 60’s

A few of my better ones from Stow Maries. Bit of a disappointing day as far as numbers went but this was due to changeable weather across the UK and a nasty crosswind which also affected their first event in May. The weather also meant the light was very variable and gave some strange effects at times which made photography difficult. The rear shot of the biplane (Steen Skybolt – I think) shows pretty much everything that attended. This is a great site and the organisers definitely deserve more luck with the weather next time. Thanks to those who did manage to make it on a pretty nasty day.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks – managed to capture me, in my RFC mechanics overalls. We were all looking at the chap’s photo album of his relatives in the Great War, including pre-war Territorials and even earlier Volunteer Rifles, and also RFC, fascinating original images

Hi Alan, do you have any photographs of the living historians there?
