I see that Stowe Maries is one of the sites mentioned for this survey of WW1 sites.

Anyone get over to the airfield at the weekend ?
We spent a pleasant four hours there on Sunday, not much in the way of flying going on, although the Tiger Club put on a
spirited display. I think a number of aircraft didn’t attend due to the strong crosswinds ? Although the “Dawn Patrol”
managed to put on a good display with their r/c scale replicas, given the conditions.
I had the pleasure of chatting to someone I knew in the ATC about 45yrs ago. Terry flys his Auster into Stow Maries for
quite a few of the events they hold.
Also had a nice conversation with a chap on the RAFA stand, telling me about his exploits flying (post war) around the
Far East in Dakotas, when he was a loadmaster.
The people at Stow Maries are doing a cracking job.
You don’t see many of these flying now

Julie Reinger did the piece – only 30 or so minutes previously while doing the Look East weather she referred to the programme piece as being about the Royal Air Corps – surprised she didn’t think it stood for Rain, Fog, Clouds….
Yes I noticed that too. 😉

The local, ex-RAF mayor or similar dignitary called it similar in the past!

A nice piece about the RFC and Stow Maries. The memorials next to the A130 are very local to me.
As I get Inside out (London) by default, perhaps someone can put a link up
to Monday’s programme ?

Thanks, I shall set that to record.

I visited Stow Maries in September and it is well worth a visit. Here are my snaps of this atmospheric place.

Although the airfield will be open all day, the service is now apparently due to
take place at 3pm.

Public service at 1pm I believe. I’ll probably be working so won’t make it
Thanks for that

Anyone have any idea of what might be happening on Remembrance Sunday, on the airfield ?

That is marvellous! I am delighted. And perhaps it will help to boost the project’s future.
