Has anyone out there got part of an old RAF wartime uniform hanging about and surplus to requirements? An old moth-eaten Greatcoat or pair of trousers ect that could be used as a donor source, wouldnt like to cut up anything in a reasonable state after all!.
You see, I just need a two foot by 9 inch or so strip of said material, this is to sew my collection of aircrew brevets to, so I can display them against the right background.
PM me if you have and that we can come to some arrangement.
Tried all the usual sources for a matching material, with no success.
Mods, please delete this post if it breaches any protocol:)

Hello Kev35,
Good idea, but tried that to no avail. no old stock either. Even tried re-enactors websites for the right Barathea wool mix in the right colour also to no avail!
I have seen fairly cheap modern uniform parts on ebay, but again the colour is not right.

Denis.
Have you tried your local ATC units? They may have an old battle dress blouse or greatcoat hanging around in their stores. If so, perhaps they’d let you have one for a small donation to unit funds?
Just a thought.
