Stranraer Boats

Hi, has anyone pictures of the RCAF Stranraers used on the west coast of Canada for patrol, or when they were used as “passenger” aircraft by Queen Charlotte Airlines. I remember as a boy playing on the hulks at Sea Island airport (now Vancouver International) in the 50’s. I know one was restored to flying condition in the late 60’s or early 70’s and eventually wound up at Hendon. Thanks Warren

There’s a photo taken by William T. Larkins on Flickr of a RCAF Stranraer visiting San Francisco early in the war; http://www.flickr.com/photos/34076827@N00/4422982544/

I had to dig through an old photobucket account for this.

I sold the original on `that` auction site a long time ago 🙁

Re reply #3

CF-BXO, I believe is the “boat” now residing in Hendon. She was restored to flying by a CBC weatherman named Bob Fortune and flown quite a lot around coastal BC before being boxed up and shipped to the “old country”. This is the one I played on as a kid.
Many thanks for the pics.

A little print I picked up circa 1960.

From memory this is now in the RAF Museum.
