Strathallan Airshow 1976 video

A superb video of the 1976 airshow at Strathallan has been added recently to Youtube. Sadly no sound but the video quality is good for its age. Enjoy some of the highlights of a wonderful show including rare footage of the Miles Student

Does any Spitfire or Hurricane, these days, ever become ‘completely destroyed’?

The Strathallan Hurricane G-AWLW was an aircraft ‘restored’Β in Canada and imported for the Battle of Britain film., and subsequently bought by the Collection. It was later purchased by the Canadian Warplane Heritage but was completely destroyed in the hangar fire which also claimed a Spitfire IX and Avenger.

Which Hurricane was that in the clip, and where is it now?

Great photos, Robert πŸ™‚Β

I was there that day too. It was definitely one of the best displays held at Strathallan. Still got the poster and the programme πŸ™‚

Thanks for drawing the video to our attention. I was there that day and it brings back memories. I was only able to afford b/w film!
