On the news at the weekend,I heard that there are fears of strikes by Aviance baggage handlers over the summer period.Though I know something like this happens all the time in the summer(ATC strikes in Europe come to mind)I am concerned that I might be stuck at LGW for a long time when I go on holiday on August 12th.So could anyone tell me about when,if ever, these strikes are likely to take place and if so what are they over?
Thanks.

RE: Strikes At UK Airports This Summer?
I’m flying with Air 2000 who are handled by Aviance which is unlucky.

RE: Strikes At UK Airports This Summer?
You may not be affected. All the time I’ve flown into or out of Gatwick I’ve never had Aviance (or whatever they’re called) handling my luggage. You may find that British Midland or Servisair will be responsible for your stuff and so the consequences of this strike will be minimal.
