Still, the Fokker 28’s use the same amount of fuel as a 737. Even using the ATP’s with lower load factors would be more profitable than using fuel guzzling (for it’s size) F28’s.

Have you ever considered the possiblilty that they couldn’t afford anything else?
Perhaps there were F50’s available or F100’s and they could afford the lease?
Or heck…. maybe they couldn’t fill the ATP’s on the routes they served and needed a reliable aircraft with lower seat numbers.
Please think about these factors before you brand an airline stupid

It was Biman Bangladesh indeed. They replaced BAe ATP’s with much older Fokker 28-4000’s.

No, the airline carries the name of one of the poorest countries in the world.
AH. In that case it’s almost certainly poverty rather than stupidty at the bottom of all this, then.

It can’t be Northwest. Although they do have some older types in their fleet, those were all acquired new, with the exception of the DC-10-30’s and some, but not all, of the DC-9’s were acquired in the Republic takeover.

I don’t think that it is NWA. They are in the process to renew their fleet.
