Stuttgart/Boblingen Flugfeld

Hi folks
I visited Boblingen historic airfield last weekend,I posted a thread about it on the Airfield Information Exchange and rather than repost loads of images I will link to it here !

At the start of the thread there is a link to some historic info and images to show the airfield history…probably best to view this first and then look at the images I posted, please excuse the pic quality – I only had my phone with me as it was a surprise visit for moi 😀

Very interesting Bazv, stole some thunder from my doorstep! Now if planes had been in the majority, maybe you wouldn’t have! 😮

As I suspected – the Klemm is a part replica of the a/c flown round the world by Friedrich Karl von Koenig-Warthausen in 1928 (20 HP daimler engine !)

Here is a link to some interesting info/pictures about this flight and also some info about a slightly later long distance flight by Elly Beinhorn in a Klemm (80 HP Argus engine) !

Klemm a/c were manufactured at this airfield,my original image of the klemm (replica ?) was virtually unviewable due to the strong backlight (only had phone camera with me)…
However I have altered the contrast and it is slightly better LOL
