Well, with my recent MiG-23 thread, I got on a Russian aircraft kick so I might as well ask some questions about my favorite Russian attacker, the Su-24 Fencer.
I need some help with……you guessed it….weapons/stores options.
First off, is the hardpoints. I’m under the impression that the Fencer has nine, with one under each wing glove, one under each outboard wing, and one centerline and four fuselage hardpoints.
Am I right or wrong?
Also, what about the gun? Does it take up a hardpoint or is it fixed?
GSh-6-23 with 500 rounds is correct?
What about bombs? MER’s and TER’s? Which hardpoints can those pylon types go on?
How many 50/100-kg, 250-kg, 500-kg, and 1000/1500-kg bombs can the Fencer carry? (theoretical max here guys don’t get all bent out of shape cause a huge bomb load isn’t normal operational procedure).
Also, what about rocket pods and large-caliber rockets? Which hardpoints can they be fitted on?
How many AS-10/12 and AS-14 missiles can be carried?
I saw that max number of Kedge’s listed as three? Is this true? If so, where is the third? I’m assuming the other two are on the wing glove pylons?
Help in all of this would be appreciated?
Also, what is the designation of the pod that must be carried to use the Kh-58 (AS-11 Kilter)?
Can the Fencer-D carry that weapon or is there a specialized model for it?
Sorry again for all the questions, but any help is greatly appreciated.
