Su-30MKK2 & Su-30MK2

During my visit to MAKS 03 I picked up a small booklet about Sukhoi aircraft – published by Aviapanorama.

It has some great colour artword and cutaway drwaings – although the text is in Russian.

I have just got around to looking at it thoroughly – and I thought the following scan might be of interest……..

It list the ‘modifications’ to the Su-30 family – and shows that there may be 2 designations for the PLAAF/PLANAF Su-30MKK2/3.

The list shows a designation of Su-30MKK-2 and then in brackets Su-30MK2 as an alternative designation.

Then it goes and spoils it all by listing the Su-30MKK-3 as Su-30MK-3 (with a dash between the K and 3) just to confuse!

My Russian is not up to a full translation – but I can see that the MK2 has an ‘RLS’ (Radar ?) of N001VE whilst the MK3 has Zhuk-MSE.

Anyone care to do a full translation.
