A bit more info regarding this…
All 100 passengers on a Sudanese airliner hijacked and taken to a remote airport in the Libyan desert have been released, a Libyan official has said.
Hijacking has been linked to the Sudan Liberation Movement
A Libyan official said: “All of the passengers have left the plane.
“The two hijackers and the crew are still inside. We are continuing to negotiate with them.”
The Sun Air Boeing 737, with some 100 passengers on board, was hijacked shortly after take-off from Darfur’s largest city, Nyala, on Tuesday and was bound for the Sudanese capital, Khartoum.
It was granted permission to land at Libya’s isolated World War II-era Kufra airport after running short of fuel.
The passengers were reportedly given water but no food, and some fainted when the aircraft’s air conditioning failed in the sweltering desert heat.
The pilot told Libyan authorities the hijackers claimed to be members of a branch of the Sudanese Liberation Movement (SLM), a Darfur rebel group.
There were reports that the hijackers had originally been demanding that the plane be refuelled and then flown to Paris.
More follows …

CNN. A lot of details on the run up to the hijack, but no current information. Eightyseven passengers, ten crew presumably sitting in the plane awaiting developments.
