In a couple of weeks time (18,19 or 26 Apr) I’m looking to treating my wife to a nice day out but am unsure of exactly where. I would like to go for a nice relaxing day, possibly to a large country house/gardens, but finding one that is unlikely to have a large number of people there is what I am finding difficult.
We live on Salisbury Plain and I’m looking for somewhere within about 50/60 miles, does anybody on here have any suggestions?

Jane Austen’s House Museum, Chawton, Alton, Hampshire GU34 1SD approx 47.7 miles:) has lovely gardens.
