Summer 2007 Meets Thread

Just to let everyone know about a couple of planned trips this Summer, where people may be able to meet…

On Tuesday 26th June, myself and PMN will be at Stansted from about 1600 (the best and one of the only photography positions is only usable after about 4pm) and this is when the best traffic is too. We’ll be staying right up until sunset. If anyone were to come down, I can take a maximum of 3 people about in my car.

The day after on the 27th we are flying to Cork, and then onto Dublin where we will arrive by 1300. We shall then be staying for the rest of the day, so people are welcome to come along. Some people may even wish to get a hotel room together at Stansted the night before, and come with us?

The flights were ridiculously cheap! It is £5.00 to Cork including taxes, and then 5.00EUR to Dublin again including taxes 😮

Thread made a sticky. Please use this one thread for all posts about meets this summer as it will be alot easier than having lots of threads. Andrewm

Hi!:)

Me and Paul (PMN) will be at DUB on Weds 25th July.

Hopefully we’ll see a few of you there!

If you saw the pic of him with a cone on his head, maybe we wont!

You would have to go to Baldonnel aerodrome, its quite a bit away from DUB and without a rental car theres no hope of getting there.

Shamrock,
Cheers for the info, do you have any ideas on where to go to get some Irish Air Corps shots?

On the 27th you will see the following at DUB.

Lots of EI A320s,321s and some A330s we should even have EI-DUO then which will be brand spanking new.

Lots of FR 738s

A good few RE ATRs

Transatlantic wise you will have
CO 762 and 752
DL 763 by 2
AA 763
US 757
AC 762
Possibly TS A310

European wise then you will has 2-3 SK, LX, LH, IB, NE a springle of C0 (centralwings) most likely 3

OK 737 from PRG and possibly A321 on a charter flight.
LO, BE, WOW, DP and maybe a FUA.

Overall alot of EI and FR but quite a few European carriers aswell.

16th of May – Dublin

Hi all,
I am taking the day off on Wednesday and flying to Dublin for the day, arriving FR505 from BRS at 08…something and returning on the last flight at 20….something.

If any of the Dublin guys are around it would be good to meet you, I have rented a car for the day to get around.

Also if there is anyone out there knows of any good areas near the IAC base at Baldonnel, I would appreciate some hints and tips.

All the best

Si

Thanks for the offer…I’ve just booked my flights!

£40.10 rtn with Ryanair as I managed to convince my friend to come along for the day too. Dep LGW @ 10:00; arr DUB @ 11:15! 😀

I have never been to Ireland (or flown with FR for that matter!), so should be an ‘experience’ all round then ‘eh?

Where will you guys be heading once you land…besides the nearest pub, no doubt? :D:diablo:

What is there in the way of movements at DUB, is it mainly European/short-haul or are there any transatlantic/long-haul services?

I am thinking of going to the Fairford airshow this year, possibly combining with with LHR and/or LGW and/or the RAF/USAF low-fly ranges in Wales. Anyone interested?

Peter, I live within the Mach loop, so give me a shout if you are thinking of heading this way 🙂

Considering STN is about 25 mins for me in the car, I will pop along on June 26th – be good to catch up again Paul, and to meet you Dan…

I fancy the Wales low flying stuff tenthije – any dates?

cheers!

Well, Fairford is 14/15 july so that would make my expedition* either the week before or the week after. Depending on work schedule and other more interesting last minute holiday destinations that may pop up. :p

Ooh, and then there are of course the financial considerations as well. It’s one thing paying huge amounts of money on UK petrol, but to then have to write of my car because it has more silicones in it then Pamela Anderson… that’s another thing altogether! 😀

If anyone wants to come to LGW I’d be happy to pop along, as I’m sure would other regulars from this neck of the woods. Just suggest a date! 😀

Just thought…what the hell and went online to book a flight to Dublin on the 27th of June for the day to meet up with some of you guys…cost £8.29 inc taxes with RYR, then after booking it I checked my diary and I am in Cologne for a meeting…….damm (word I actually used is not allowed on forum). I must check diary before booking flights not other way around 😮

Just booked a flight up to Manchester on the 11th of July if anyone is in the area it would be great to meet up.

All the best

Si

By the way…your all welcome to come down to Bristol anytime, there is always a Bed / Tent / Sleeping bag / Dog Kennel at Chateau Jones.:)

That’s a very kind offer, Si. May just have to investigate flights to BRS at some point!

Maybe drop a quick reminder in the forum nearer the 11th and I’m sure a few local-ish people may well join you!

Paul
