Summer must be here

Spent much of the day on the beach at West Wittering, West Sussex, working; sighted a destroyer coming in from the Channel, several Sea Kings (one RAF, probably running tests from Fleetlands, and at least one other which appeared to be dunking in the same location to the east of the Nab tower for hours!), at least one Navy Lynx (flying along the shore at low level, apparently ogling Sun worshippers!) and at least one Chinook, plus a couple of civvy spams doing tail chases which looked decidedly dog fight-ish. Kite surfers were out in force, beach vollyballers were gamely chasing down the beach after the ball, assisted by the prevailing wind, there were even a few sail boards out.

The Sun was warm – despite the harsh breeze – the sea was cold (what should I expect, it is early June!) and sand got everywhere.

But the back of my neck is tingly – sunburn means summer at last?

German lager is unbeatable. Nothing like the dishwater they serve under the banner of Lager in most pubs.
I vill be enjoying a nice cold Bitburger in a proper pilsner glass this evening with my meal. Shame it won’t be served by one of those lovely ladies who can deliver 8- 10 steins to your table in one go!!!!

Please note this forum upholds traditional values. Lager (note that there is but one ‘r’) is a drink for callow youths and girlies.

Real ale is the drink of men, and Nigel F. Though I suspect once the cameras have left he probably switches very swiftly to a snowball or vodka and Red Bull.

Since we live withing spitting distance of each other perhaps Snaff,JG and myself should meet up for a cold larger during the long hot british summer – politics and immigration topics banned from the conversation of course LOL

Uncontrolled as in they are having fun chasing each other barking and generally playing or uncontrolled as in attacking people.Don’t forget children run around chasing, screaming and being a nusience to those who don’t have them or want to hear /see others kids.

Sand as far as the eye can see. So down to the shore (and probably a bit further under water) and to the car park.

They allow dogs on the beach (some of it, anyway) which is a little strange, which does mean one or two examples of uncontrolled dogs chasing around…
