Hi All,I was watching the one day match between The Aussies & The Poms at about 2.30 Darwin time and the cameras covering the game started focusing on the aircraft flying overhead. The footage of B-17’s,B-25’s,etc was excellant but I was really surprised at the reception from the crowd to the Spitfire,Hurricane,& Lancaster. All ages of people started applauding and began to stand as the three flew over the ground,in this day & age where most of the ‘younger’ generations don’t even know what these aeroplanes are I found it heartening that the sight of symbols of a 60 year ago war were recognized in such a way.My two cents,Best Regards,Pete

Needed an air test apparently. I think I read somewhere that it went up on Saturday evening?

Nice to see the Hawker Nimrod in the sky again.
Hopefully once the Demon has an engine, someone will try to get the Demon, Nimrod and Hind together for a display. 3 silver Hawker biplanes with Rolls Royce Kestrals. What a sight!!!!!
Any idea why it didn’t fly on Saturday?

Atlantic put on a good show Tom.
Sorry I didn’t know you’d be there, it would have been good to meet up again.

The stripped Dak was N5831B which is living at Liverpool. I don’t know who owns it now but it used to belong to McNeely Charter Service based at Millwaukee.

Superb shots. Whose was the paint-stripped C-47 (wasn’t present on Saturday)?
