Sunny in San Fran too ;-))

My awefully nice employer insisted I spent a few days in San Francisco, so I thought I’d plot an extra day there for a few photos. Sorry about the quality of the Alaskaair.com, but I had to ramp down the settings and size to get under the upload limit here!

Very nice photos. And, agreed, San Fran is a great city.

Sausalito was and still is the favorite place of the artist community in SF.
It is a village partly made with floating houses/boats. This place was created and trendy back in the 70’s when the hippies were running the show.

You’ll find here very charming boutiques and restaurants as well as fiendly people to chat with.

This quite a unique place and if you seat at the terrace of one of the restaurants , you’ll have a unique view of San Francisco. (With SFO in the diestance) .

OAK is loacated on the other side of the bay.

To get to Sausalito , just cross the Golden gate an the 2 or 3 next exists take you there. I do prefer the first exit though since it will take you there thru a very charming street.

Have fun

Steve,

Pardon my ignorance but please tell me about Sausalito and Tiberon? food places by any chance.

Cheers

Andy

They are both quaint harbor villages on the other side of the bay, great restaurants, shopping and galleries, if you have a wife or girlfriend they would love it

Thanks for that Paul…! 😡 Haven’t you got anything better to do – like taking pictures at dull old Farnborough!

Andy

PS: Hope someone’s processed your Farnborough pics in the a.net queue, because you’ll be getting a few rejects if not! :p

Frisco is a very nice seaside city in the vein of Lisboa, Sydney, and San Diego. There is history and culture here and the food and wine is some of the best in the country. The best parts of the city are the north and east coast. The west coast is also very scenic if you enjoy motoring.

Woo-hoo! Looks like a great airport for spotting. I’m off there in 6 weeks time 🙂 for a week to comiserate turning 30 years old 🙁

I’ve heard nothing but good things about SFO and, boy, am I looking forward to getting there. Your comments make me want to go now!!

I make guarantees that my photos will not be anything like as good as yours 😮

You’re right . SFO is a great airport. The Marriot zone is easy to access , easy to park , and as long as you have the right lens , that’s a great place to shoot good pictures of parrallele landings.

Have a nice trip 🙂

Very high class, looks like an exciting airport (what major airport isn’t:)). I wish I had such a camera, and such an airport in Belgium.

Monster,
I feel so sorry that you were grounded serveral days at SFO.
Being forced to stay at the Marriot at having to spot plane all the day long was certainly a torture.

I’m however glad that you survived this hell on earth. You should sue your employer. 🙂

Thanks for sharing.

So if I can persuade the webmaster to open up a forum on here to discuss aviation photography would you be willing to pass on some of your knowledge and experiences to the many budding aviation snappers to be found here and across the other Key Publishing forums ?

I guess that’ll be the end of using A.net shots to illustrate our discussions ? 😮

Nah, I don’t think so… 😉
