Some nice photos so far!

A quick couple taken a few minutes ago out of my bedroom skylight. Easily one of the most gorgeous skies I’ve ever seen round these parts!

Nothing quite as good as the rest above. Taken early one morning in 2006

another ” blue hour ” shot unfortunately i was only using a monopod for a ten sec exposure so some movement evident !!

but gives an idea !!

My Avatar was taken aboard a DC6 of IFA Belgium on a joy flight from Gatwick along the south coast on the 23rd October, 1977.

Looking at the photos on here only reinforces my opinion that sunrise and sunset are some of the best shooting conditions you can get. At such times it becomes more a matter of choosing the right shot than the right light.

mostly it depends what you want !! most subjects are good in morning and evening light

that is where the sun is lower and it gives a warmer more pleasing light

mid day light is very harsh !!

there is also ” the blue hour ” this is the hour before sunrise and after sunset

it can be used to great effect on its own but because it is less harsh light than sunrise and sunset

great pictures emerge long exposure , tripod , and fill flash is the order of the day for ” blue hour” photography
