This morning I passed at least 5 trailers with various sections of Super Constellation CF-TGE on 401 Hwy about 1 1/2 hours east of Toronto. I suppose they are using an alternate border crossing as they were traveling in the wrong direction.
Ottawa had earlier approved an export permit allowing the aircraft to finally join the collection of The Museum of Flight in Seattle, Washington.

Sad to see her go……
Hopefully this is the start of a better chapter in her history with a new location and a proper restoration done to ensure her longterm health.

The U.S. allows a Pearl Harbour attack survivor P-40 to go to England…..yet the Canadians make a huge fuss over a Connie that was outside and not in the best of shape…a news story posted in an earliuer thread said it was “abandoned” for years and was a former bar.
I don’t get it.

Well, that is good news in that a decision was made and a stalemate did not occurr. The result will obviously not please everyone but the success of the mission overcomes all. More on the dilemma below.
