Sergeant Troy Hischer with the North Dakota Highway Patrol says 66-year-old Bob Odegaard died at the scene after his 1945 Super Corsair crashed at about 5:55 p.m. Odegaard was practicing his routine for the Wings & Wheels Airshow scheduled to be Saturday at the airport.
Edit. Heads up: Since I first posted this link it has been updated with a couple of pics.

Very sad news.
That’s three of the veteran ‘Reno’ set lost in a year.
Jimmy Leeward (74), Howard Pardue (77) and Bob Odegaard (62)

I am gutted. He was such a gifted pilot….friendly too. Blue skies sir. Condolences to his family.
Pictures of happier times with the first Super.

Poor ******. I’d seen his routine at Reno in the red Super Corsair and thought it pretty fantastic, there was lots of energy conservation and low engine speeds making the prop appear to turn at low RPM (750 RPM according to the commentator). It was a spellbinding display of an interesting and rare type. I’ve not seen his blue machine. My condolences to the friends and family that Bob Odegaard leaves behind.
